BEFORE the examination born (JIEGUO)

China is a large country (big!). Their film industry is currently much lately, but still many Chinese films drown into oblivion, due to bad luck or the absence of foreign appeal simply. Race in such a little nice gem still feels a bit special and better reason is a need to share these discoveries with others? That is quite well I felt when watching before born, a little careful jewel directed by Ming Zhang who really deserve some additional attention.

Somewhat promo work you might find this film, it is quite misleading. The poster appears to emit an aura rather warm and comforting, the film is cold, impenetrable yet elegant and mobile. A very strange (commercial?) move, but it is not the first time, advertising film go terribly wrong. In any case, I've never found a poster or a description of lean plot line, just to give you an idea of its lack of clarity.

Before Born is a film about the goals and dreams, but see their lives have changed and influenced by events in the margins of their travel. All three main characters are looking for a specific person, but are either on the way. Ultimately, the goal itself becomes irrelevant, dominated by experiences they encounter in the meantime. It takes a little time to realize what is well illustrated by Zhang characters.

Before Born remains somewhat cryptic on actual facts and events in General, that slowly revealing his public key information. The essence of the story is very simple (and surprising), but it is not in the path through to Midway, we get a grip on what happens exactly not to and why everyone is looking for a particular character. This is a fairly cheap but very effective to keep you interested by what comes next.

While the movie poster could be hot bath red and orange, the film itself is painted blue and grey. Zhang uses this particular filter through the whole film him giving a look rather cold and detached. The scenes filmed in sunny days emit low heat. This choice could obstruct the emotional involvement of certain persons, for me it really enhanced the experience goes well with the emotional state of the characters themselves.

The soundtrack is rather simple but effective. Subtle music for piano, sometimes added somewhat grandiloquently highlight the most spectacular scenes. Art price and standard test, but it does not work and the score itself contains enough quality to obtain irritants. Step unique or worthy of possession on CD, but it does work.

Acting is surprisingly solid, well-managed unknown actors or second-line. This does not mean that they are not any good, it means that they have very low international call. All the three main characters in a show, providing just enough emotion for their characters to make them come to life while that does not hurt the outside cold film.

Before Born is a strange mixture of crime, mystery and drama, even if there is no crime or action occur anywhere. These tips little mixing of genres originate from the lack of grip on the story from the beginning, but they film a rather special atmosphere carries through the whole film. To end dramatic sections are fully apparent, but from the beginning you will you ask where the film attempts to you.

If you're not a fan of silent, Asian characters doing things rather strange and inexplicable from time to time, this will undoubtedly be your movie and it is probably better to stay away from it as possible. But if you like this kind of thing that proves to be a very pleasant discovery indeed. Once you've passed their exteriors of Pierre-cold, there are lots of depth of character (suggested) indeed with some substantive themes nice value added.

Before Born is a smart, strong and solid, although he could film not really justify the problem, you need to look in reality. Darkness stands in the way of easy availability and it is certainly a good film, lacks a little uniqueness to call a true masterpiece. However, if you happen to encounter it, be sure to give him a chance. Good good things.
