Winning Cannes Iranian Film Maker Jafar Panahi imprisoned and prohibited from making films

Jafar Panahi - one of the most acclaimed filmmakers never out of the Iran - was ordered imprisoned for six years and prohibited from making films for twenty years.

Disorders of the Panahi began in July of 2009, when he attended a mourning ceremony protesters killed in the violence surrounding the latest Iranian elections. He was arrested at the time but released later, even though it is forbidden to leave the country. He was arrested again in February 2010 and accused collection, illegal collusion and propaganda against the current regime. What are "crimes" for which he was now ordered.

Now aged 49, this sentence ends efficiently the Panahi career unless he manages somehow to leave the country.
